Kevin Cheng is a co-founder and Partner of Ventana, where he partners with founders building category-defining vertical AI and technology companies at the early-growth stage.

Kevin was a Partner at Tidemark, where he joined as the first hire and helped build the firm. Earlier, he was a founding member of Sumeru Equity Partners, a growth equity firm that spun out of Silver Lake. He began his career in investment banking at J.P. Morgan and holds a B.S.E. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.

Kevin grew up in Santa Barbara, CA (just south of the Ventana Wilderness).

Vinay Kumar is a co-founder and Partner of Ventana, where he partners with founders building category-defining vertical AI and technology companies at the early-growth stage.

Vinay was a Principal at Avenir, where he helped lead the software investment strategy. Earlier, he was on the investment team at Sumeru Equity Partners, a growth equity firm that spun out of Silver Lake. He began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and holds a B.A. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.

Vinay grew up in Santa Cruz, CA (just north of the Ventana Wilderness).

Paroon is a Growth Partner at Ventana, where he works closely with founders on early-stage scaling and multi-product strategy. He is the co-founder and former CEO of OnBoard and eScribe, leading corporate governance software platforms.

Paroon bootstrapped his businesses before raising growth capital from Five Elms Capital and JMI Equity. With 20+ years of experience as a founder, board member, and investor, Paroon has seen multiple stages of growth, ownership, acquisitions, and liquidity. He serves on several boards, including OnBoard (exec. chair) and Qooper.io.

Scott is a Growth Partner at Ventana, where he works closely with founders on early-stage scaling, GTM strategy, and finance. He was previously COO and CFO of Alteryx and Hortonworks and CFO at Quest Software.

With 25+ years of experience as an operator, board member, and investor, Scott has scaled multiple software companies with deep expertise in capital-efficient growth. He serves on several boards, including Appfire, BlackLine (NASDAQ: BL), PowerGEM, and Technosylva.
